
Bye SENA 2019, HI SEG 2019!
AP2HI has officially launched Indonesian Tuna which is one-by-one caught tuna fisheries brand at Seafood Expo North America 2019. The launching event was opened by Indonesia’s Consul General in New York, Honorable Abdulkadir Jailani. The speech continued by Mrs Janti Djuari, as AP2HI’s chairwoman. She introduced the new brand and share the audience the commitment of the association and its member, not only for the oceans and tuna stock, the fishing communities, but to the whole world to further develop a sustainable tuna fisheries industry in Indonesia.
The speech session was ended by Martin Purves, Managing Director of IPNLF and Alfons van Duijvenbode, UNIDO expert who guided the brand development. They congratulated the association and its members with this milestone and are looking forward to see the association and its members as flag bearers and role models for a sustainable tuna industry in Indonesia. Indonesian Tuna’s video presentation and networking event were closing this launching ceremony.
New Brand, New Spirit
With 7 members who participated in this exposition, Indonesian Tuna successfully achieved more than 50% new visitor than SENA 2018. Moreover, the launching event gained international media attention including seafoodsource.com who is the leader of international online business tool for seafood industry professional.
After the successful of launching Indonesian tuna at SENA 2019, Indonesian Tuna will attempt to gain more global buyers’ scope at Seafood Expo Global (SEG) 2019.
Participation for the second time in the largest seafood trade event in the world
We proud to announce that the Indonesian Pole & Line and Handline Fisheries Association (AP2HI) will participate again at The Seafood Expo Global 2019 (SEG) in Brussels, Belgium. The event will take place at the Brussels Expo, Belgium from 7 may until 9 May 2019. The Seafood Expo Global 2019 (SEG) is the largest seafood trade events in the world.
According to seafoodexpo.com, many company from more than 78 countries will exhibit their seafood product in this event. In the consumer side, this event will be visited by buyers from more than 150 countries around the world.
Gain more global scope
As the largest tuna supplier in the world, Indonesia Tuna already has main buyers such as United States, Japan Hongkong, Australia and South Korea. According to This Week Asia News, Indonesia has been becoming the largest suppliers in the United States since several years ago. Therefore, Indonesian Tuna will target to expand new global market in this event.
A brand committed to sustainability
The brand for Indonesian one-by-one caught tuna has been developed by the industry with the support of UNIDO’s Smart Fish programme, to promote Indonesia’s sustainable tuna fisheries to the world. It is an umbrella brand, managed by AP2HI, that ensures buyers that the member’s product is of premium quality caught one-by-one, using sustainable fisheries methods.
