Live Update: Indonesian Tuna Officially Launched

During the second day of the Seafood Expo North America 2019, the Indonesian one-by-one Tuna brand was officially launched! The launching ceremony at the Indonesia pavilion was guided by Abdul Muis Sulaiman, General Manager of the Indonesian Pole & Line and Handline Fisheries Association (AP2HI). Indonesia’s Consul General in New York, Honorable Abdulkadir Jailani, kicked off the launch with a speech in which he lauded the new strategy to brand Indonesian tuna.

After that, AP2HI chairwoman Janti Djuari, took the floor to introduce the new brand and share with the audience the commitment of the association and its members, not only for the oceans and tuna stock, the fishing communities, but to the whole world to further develop a sustainable tuna fisheries industry in Indonesia. Martin Purves, Managing Director of IPNLF and Alfons van Duijvenbode, UNIDO expert who guided the brand development, congratulated the association and its members with this milestone and are looking forward to see the association and its members as flag bearers and role models for a sustainable tuna industry in Indonesia.
